Already registered and wondering what to expect next?  The good news is you've done the hard part.

HEY COACH!   If you indicated an interest in coaching a team during registration, the league will reach out to you soon.  All our volunteers, which includes team managers and assistant coaches, are required to submit to a background check and attend coaching clinics that cover player safety and general information on how to manage a team with Central Little League (it's easier than it sounds and a lot of fun).

On Saturday 2/23 and Sunday 2/24 the league will hold player evaluations at Pen Park for kids that have registered for the Upper Minors (Kid Pitch) and Majors divisions.  Kids that are league age 8+ (born before 9/1/2011) that registered for coach pitch may attend evaluations if they are interested in moving up to Upper Minors.  The purpose of the evaluation is to allow league officials to evenly balance teams.  Returning Majors players are automatically placed on the team they were on last year, so an evaluation is not required.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT EVALUATIONS.  Kids arrive, and we give them an opportunity to warm up. Once we have a group of kids, we run them through basic evaluations that include: batting, pitching, base running, and catching. For most, the evaluations should take less than an hour.

MAJORS DIVISION DRAFT...WHAT IS IT?  Majors is the top division within Little League and it offers an advanced level of play.  Kids that are league age 9 - 12 (born before September 1, 2010) may be drafted to the Majors division.  For the Spring 2019 season, there are approximately 12 open slots for the draft.  If your child is a potential candidate for the draft, the league's Player Agent will consult with parents first to make sure they are interested in the additional commitment that goes with the Majors division.  Majors Division managers evaluate the kids and if they feel they are ready to move up, they will be drafted to a Majors team and will be notified 1 – 2 days after tryouts.

Our Majors coaches have many years of experience and will not move a child to the Majors division unless they feel that the child is ready. Safety is our paramount concern. We no more want to see a child who is not ready playing in a higher division than we want to see children in a lower division competing against a child who should have been promoted. If there is any question on the day of tryouts, league board members will be available to answer.

Teams will be formed and practices start by mid-March.  Games for the Majors division will start in late March, but games for all other divisions will start immediately following our Opening Ceremonies on April 13, 2019.

We're getting the band back together!  Two years ago we formed the Central Little League Band with seven Central players that play in the Walker Band and they wowed us at the Opening Ceremony by playing the National Anthem.  Some of the original members have aged out of Little League, but are still playing in the Buford Middle School band.  This year the veteran band members are back again to play with new and returning band members.  If your player is interested in joining this year, please email the league at [email protected]
