Central Little League is proud to announce that Jefferson Area Girls Softball (JAGS) will be merging into Central in order to have one little league that can provide both baseball and softball to the area. Founded in 1951 and first chartered by Little League in 1977, Central Little League is celebrating its 69th year in existence and is pleased to expand its offerings to ensure that every boy and girl in the area has the opportunity to learn the game of baseball or softball. In a joint statement from both Michael Phillips, the President of Central Little League, and Matthew Wickline, the President of JAGS, they stated "This is an incredible opportunity for both Central and JAGS to combine our operations and provide top tier competition in baseball and softball in Charlottesville and Albemarle County." The merger was approved by Little League recently and in time for Central to begin its registration for the Spring 2020 season.
Jimmie Straley, Virginia District 14's Administrator, said "District 14 Little League is looking forward to working with Central Little League to grow Little League Softball in the Charlottesville and Albemarle County area."
Registration for baseball and softball for the Spring 2020 season is now open at
